What is Hypothyroidism?

Hypothyroidism is a condition where the thyroid malfunctions within the horse. “Hypo-” means “low” or “less” in medical terms, so essentially this means the thyroid is not working to it’s full ability and is secreting low levels of hormones.  It is underactive.
